When I think of research I feel that I struggled with the research concept over the last eight weeks. Although I struggled with this class I feel like I learned alot especially in regards to qualitative and quantative methods. I learned alot about how to develop a research study and the steps I will need to take to develop my own research study. To be honest I do not think that I want to do a research study after taking this class. I enjoy reading research but actually conducting a study does not have any interest to me. I feel that it was important for me to understand the foundations of research and through this class I was able to gain the knowledge of these foundations that pertains to early childhood research.
Dear Malinda,
ReplyDeleteThis was a very intense class, I will admit! Even if we don't actually create research projects in the future, we can still use what we learned to be consumers of others' research. We have a background now, of how these studies are written and carried out. I liked that guideline we received on what to "skip" and what to read thoroughly when reading someone else's research. Maybe one day down the road, we might have an idea that sparks passion- enough to lead us to conducting research! Time will tell!
I've enjoyed chatting/sharing with you during this course!
Thanks!
Anne
Malinda,
ReplyDeleteI agree that conducting research isn't for me! But I am glad that I have had this course and now know how to be critical of research when reading it and how to decode it quickly. Best of luck to you and your studies!
